Body / Trim Analysis Engineer

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Body / Trim Analysis Engineer working on a permanent basis with an important automotive manufacturing company based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

You will be joining a very important part of an international company who are globally recognised for being at the forefront of their field.

As Body / Trim Analysis Engineer you will be reporting to the Body Warranty Engineering Section Manager, the main purpose of your role will be to investigate warranty concerns related to Body / Trim components. This is in order to understand root cause and drive through the implementation of appropriate countermeasures.

This role will offer you the opportunity to integrate with a team of Engineers from widely varying backgrounds. No two days are the same, one day you could be visiting a dealer in Europe to diagnose a concern, the next day you could be presenting findings to the Company's European Senior Management team. The role will expose you to a variety of manufacturing processes, from Spot Welding and Paint application through to complex moulding manufacturing.

Availability to travel globally at short notice is essential for this role.

Main responsibilities:

*Carrying out on car or bench testing of returned components in order to identify the responsibility for the failure, i.e. supplier, in-house or design

*Collating all relevant data in order to evidence findings

*Liaising with the responsible area in order to implement necessary countermeasures in the timeliest manner

*Liaising with after sales network in order to publicise and deploy the countermeasures

To be considered for the position of Body / Trim Analysis Engineer you must have/be:

*Proven experience in a vehicle analysis role.
*Hands on technical ability, essential as the role requires fault diagnosis & repair skills
*Ability to solve complex technical issues providing data in support of analysis outcomes.
*Good understanding of Interior / Exterior trim materials and their typical failure modes.
*Experience of Weld / Paint construction.
*High level of Microsoft Office ability (e.g. Excel: Graphs, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
*Ability to compile data and present it in such a way that members from a wide variety of audiences can grasp the technical details.
*Good experience with Catia or other drawing viewing system
*Methodical worker with the ability to balance a number of priorities at the same time
*Willingness to learn on own initiative
*Must have a current driving licence
*Ability to travel worldwide at short notice
*(Experience with measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment would be beneficial)
