We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term, full time basis supporting pupils in the nursery department of a mainstream Primary school in central Cardiff, as part of an increase in intake of additional pupils (rising 3's). This position is to start ASAP and confirmed until July 2018 and will then be reviewed for continuation in September 2018.

The successful candidate will have experience, and extensive knowledge of supporting the Foundation Phase Curriculum and Early Years Development. The right person for the job will therefore need to demonstrate initiative and apply a pro-active approach to tasks and to the fast pace of the environment. You will be competent in contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the nursery, and will be a positive role model for the pupils. The school are looking for people with excellent interpersonal skills who are able to build strong rapport with staff and children alike.

You will need to be adaptable to change and have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a strong understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding regulations. You will need to be qualified as a Teaching Assistant to level 2 (or above/equivalent), have excellent knowledge of Foundation Phase principles and practice, a strong understanding of child development and recent, referenceable experience as a Teaching Assistant within a similar environment.
