The Family Health Services Manager is a key role for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde at a time of significant change for GP contracts in Scotland. This is a board wide role within the Primary Care Support and Development team, hosted by Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership. The core purpose of the role is to lead the FHS function including responsibility for the GP and Ophthalmic lists, appraisal and revalidation and the primary care distribution centre. You will provide specialist advice and support on independent contractor regulations and processes, and be responsible for the development and management of critical systems to enable over 1900 GPs and Optometrists to work within an appropriate governance framework across NHSGGC. Working with 237 GP practices and over 180 Optometric practices, as well as 6 Health and Social Care Partnerships and a range of Board wide services and external partners, you will be able to manage a complex set of relationships and priorities. This will be a critical role in enabling the Board to prepare for and manage the transition to new contract arrangements as these come into effect. A key part of the role will be to lead the FHS team through a time of change. Applicants will have to demonstrate highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to develop and manage robust administrative systems for the high volume and complexity required in a large organisation. Ability to interpret, explain and work within contractual regulations and associated policy and guidance is essential. Staff and budget management experience is essential along with evidence of ability to form good working relationships with independent contractors and a wide range of clinical and non clinical staff in senior roles across the organisation. It is essential that you are educated to Degree level or equivalent and you have gained experience in a relevant role. You should have experience of managing staff in accordance with relevant HR procedures. The shift pattern for this post is over 5 days. Part time maybe considered.
