This is a temporay seconded post to provide cover during a period of adoption leave. The post is being advertised as a full time secondment however part time cover would be considered. This post provides an ideal opportunity for people who have some experience in delivering training. The post is located within the Glasgow Child Protection Committee (CPC) Support Team. The post holder will be line managed by the CPC Lead Officer and be responsible to the Child Protection Committee for Glasgow City. The core work of the Senior Learning and Development Officer is the development and delivery of the training calendar. The post is unique in that it allows the post holder to develop and deliver training, workshops and seminars across a range of subjects identified from significant case reviews, research, policy and practice developments. Some topics delivered in this way include Risk Assessment, Child Sexual Exploitation, The Impact of Neglect on Children, Working with Non Engaging Families and Domestic Abuse. Successful applicants must be educated to degree level (in Social Work, Health or other equivalent discipline) with post qualification experience and have a proven track record in the development, delivery and evaluation of training programmes within social work or social care. A sound understanding of child protection issues, priorities and challenges as well as an understanding of more than one care setting is essential. Successful applicants will also have the ability to work co-operatively across agency boundaries and negotiate with external agencies, demonstrating sound networking skills in the training field.
