Based in Newport my client are a leading global manufacturing business who are continuing to grow. This newly created Quality Engineer position would suit somebody who is working as a Quality Technician or Quality Inspector and is looking for progression routes and to develop their existing skills.
As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing quality improvements.
Based in Newport your responsibilities will include:
Manage containment of customers concerns, using 8D identify root cause, develop corrective action plans and facilitate the 8D process until resolution.
Review daily, weekly and monthly data to identify waste drivers and improve overall quality targets.
Organise and lead cross functional problem solving teams through root cause identification, verification and corrective action steps including preventive actions.
Participate actively in the requirement to retain ISO certifications.
To be considered as Quality Engineer for my client based in Newport you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
The Quality Engineer must be driven, a self starter, problem solver with a 'can do' positive attitude.
Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
Proven track record in a similar quality engineering position or in a quality technician or quality inspection position.
A thorough understanding of quality systems and an in depth knowledge of ISO9001.
Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering or quality engineering function in an engineering environment would be a distinct advantage.
Proven experience using core tools such as: 8D, control planning, FMEA, SPC, standardised work and PPAP.
Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgement.
An effective verbal and written communicator all levels of the organisation.
£30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package.
