Senior Pensions Administrator

We are currently looking for a technically adept DC pensions administration professional to work within a dynamic administration function that prides itself on providing outstanding customer service to our client, a global blue-chip financial services company.

About the role

Working within an HR Service Centre environment, this role is responsible for providing a high quality service to our clients. Working within the Scheme Events Section of the Pensions and Benefits Team to ensure the effective delivery of a Pensions Administration service.

The role requires a combination of Pensions experience, familiarity with Service Centre principles, team working skills and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. The Excel skills are particularly important as the work will involve Pivot Tables & Reporting, Advanced Formulas, Tables & Formatting, Data Views, VLOOKUP's, VBA and Macros.

The ideal candidate will already be working as a Senior Pensions Administrator or DC Pensions Specialist within the Pension's industry (preferably for a Third Party Administrator)and should possess strong pensions administration skills.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting experience advantageous, as building reports will form an integral part of this role as client requirements often mean designing one off reports for specific projects.

  • Working with Team Leader and Team Colleagues to ensure schemes operate effectively and meet performance, quality and customer care targets as well as complying with industry standards;

  • All aspects of bulk task or Scheme Events administration, including production of valuation extracts, production of annual pension statements, lifestyle process, bonus waiver, tax year end activity, carry forward scope calculations, data cleanse, report writing and project work.

  • Contribute to a process of continual service improvement; generating efficiencies for Capita and better working practices for client and pension scheme members.

  • Responsible for meeting client SLA's and providing a first class Pension & Benefits Administration service

  • Assist Team Leader, as and when directed, with tracking of trends in volumes and enquiry types.

  • Identify any potential service issues and problems and escalate to the Pension and Benefits Team Leader as required

Essential skills & Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of Defined Contribution Occupational Pension Schemes. Knowledge of Defined Benefit Occupational Pension Schemes is desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills, work will involve Pivot Tables & Reporting, Advanced Formulas, Tables & Formatting, Data Views, VLOOKUP's ,VBA and Macros
  • Proven track record of providing quality customer service in a similar environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify trends and develop solutions to improve the member experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

** Knowledge of Hartlink would be highly advantageous**
