Job Title: Planning Solicitor
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established law firm in Bournemouth. Planning is a strategic area for the firm and due to sustained growth in caseload we are looking for an experienced Solicitor join our client's existing Planning team.
Working alongside our highly experienced Consultant Planning Solicitor and Town Planner, you will be working with contentious and non-contentious planning matters including but not limited to: planning applications, promoting development, CPO objections, Section 106 and 278 agreements, CIL contributions, enforcement issues, drafting petitions, planning appeals and judicial reviews.
Ultimately to be successor to the experienced planning solicitor and possible head of expanded department.
You will be required to:
·Conduct cases with support of colleagues
·Support colleagues with their cases
·Deliver high quality advice
·Assist in business development
·Demonstrate comprehensive and dependable skills across the range of work you do
·Handle a workload with a minimum of supervision
·Recognise and manage risk effectively
·Manage time effectively to maximise the profitability of your work and be developing your organisational skills
·Develop your client relationship and client care skills
·Commit to your personal development, the development of technical skills and actively participate in development of departmental know-how
Ideally the successful candidate will have some experience of:
·Planning Law applications and appeals
·Drafting and negotiating planning, and other infrastructure agreements
·Judicial review and High Court appeals
·Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas
·Environmental issues (including environmental impact assessments)
·Planning inquiries and informal hearings
·Solicitor; barrister or legal executive
·At least 5 years pqe in the above areas with at least 2 years in the private sector
·Good IT skills
·Good business development skills
