About the role

From makeup and skincare to fragrances, from Chanel to Dior and everything in between, our classic and contemporary beauty department here at Selfridges has it all. Its a haven for all things luxury and, as an integral part of the in-store environment, an impressive retail challenge in its own right. As Beauty Manager, youll combine experience and vision to grow sales and profitability, while identifying areas for improvement at every opportunity. A highly visible senior manager, youll influence business managers and buying partners, setting the standard for your teams in everything you do. And with an eye on the future business, youll develop excellent relationships with brand partners and always be thinking of ways to grow our reputation for offering the complete beauty experience.

About you

Ideally youll have a background in the beauty sector, youll be a confident retail manager and a fantastic communicator who can demonstrate genuine interest in working in our unrivalled Beauty department. Its as much about maintaining current levels of service as it is finding new ways to excel, so youll have sound commercial acumen, a customer-focused approach and know how to plan ahead. Whats more, youll strike the balance between looking the part and acting it youll reflect the Selfridges brand in your attitude, professionalism and demeanour, with the added style youd associate with a department of this standing.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales

  • Delivering an extraordinary customer experience meeting sales & profit targets
  • Creating an extraordinary selling experience for customers
  • Consistently meeting customer needs and expectations & initiating improvements whenever possible

People

  • Managing & leading our people through Performance Management & other available tools and processes.
  • Delivering an extraordinary customer experience meeting sales & profit targets

Environment

  • Ensuring the full trading window is efficiently managed
  • Managing rotas to ensure departments are staffed to required levels
  • Delivering visual standards which are high
  • Ensuring Sales floors are legal & compliant

Product

  • Ensuring a thorough brand & product knowledge
  • Demonstrating an authentic & passionate understanding of brand, product & the competition
  • Ensuring consistently well managed stocks & displays

Additional Requirements

A fully flexible approach to weekend working is required. Typically this will include 2 full weekends out of 4 or 4 weekend days per month. These will be scheduled around the needs of the business and any personal requests. During Peak Trade it will be necessary to work extra weekends to support the business. These times include Sale periods, promotions etc. Any holidays taken will be counted towards your weekends off during that period.
