Competitive Salary

Covering the core business hours of 9am - 6pm (flexibility required, depending on business needs)

The opportunity to work for a thriving financial business in Norwich is available. They require a Web Developer with sound knowledge and experience to take responsibility for all the digital design and build.

Responsible for the creation, implementation and ongoing optimisation of the design, layout and usability of company’s digital collateral from initial wireframes and prototyping through to full visual creation and front end build / development.

You will produce responsive and engaging website designs that work on a wide range of supported internet browsers. You will work closely with back-end developers to provide high-level support on maintenance, monitoring, testing, and overall website support, as well as the with the Digital Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing to optimise content and the customer journey according to customer and business needs. In addition, there will be a requirement for the production of other digital assets such as emails and digital banners, as well as some offline creative too.

You must have and maintain a high level of awareness of industry changes and trends, particularly with regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies and you will keep the Digital Marketing Manager and team members informed as appropriate, with a view to incorporating these into future projects to stay ahead of the market.

Primary Responsibilities

Website

  • Responsible for the overall design and implementation of the core proposition websites to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Manage & develop the web platform to maintain best practice in terms of security, stability, speed and user experience
  • Write clean, compliant and accessible mark-up (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript jQuery) ensuring that code is cross-browser / cross-platform compatible and responsive across all desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Audit and optimise on a regular basis
  • Accountable for all front-end web content creation and maintenance with Wordpress CMS and other platforms as required
  • Assist the Digital Marketing Manager to deliver the user experience and optimisation programme, working closely with insight, technology, underwriting and product development teams to conceive and implement both strategic and tactical site development initiatives

Digital Acquisition Campaigns

  • Assist the Digital Marketing Manager in the delivery of the digital acquisition plan by creating relevant, engaging and rich content where appropriate to drive interaction and application. Monitor results to drive improvements in creative and user experience

Brand & CRM Support

  • Design and build the creative for responsive email marking campaigns for deployment through a 3rd party email management system
  • Input into broader strategic brand development discussions
  • Design and produce print-ready marketing materials to support the Digital, CRM and Brand strategy such as Press ads, DM packs, ad-hoc promotional graphics, infographics and other collateral
  • Develop social media applications where required as part of the brand plan and understand their platforms (including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter)

Experience

  • Previous commercial experience as a Front End Developer / Web site designer essential
  • Previous experience designing and building emails for execution across platforms and channels essential
  • Knowledge of programming language essential
  • Strong digital design portfolio essential with proven track record of successful commercial outcome following implementation of campaigns
  • Some experience of design across offline channels desirable, such as Press, DM and Outdoor, as well as rich digital media including video and animation
  • Qualification in Graphic Design or similar course desirable but not essential
  • Understanding/experience of website function as lead generation tool highly desirable
  • Willingness for further study in the technical area is preferred (if required)
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Adwords highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of web coding and build using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript jQuery, as well as a firm an appreciation of responsive design
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.) for the production of wireframes and designs for use across channels
  • Experience working across industries and within different sized organisations ideal
  • Financial Services experience beneficial, not essential

21 days + bank holidays, increasing incrementally by 1 day per year (max 25 days)
