The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large (95 wte) service comprising a range of clinical and health specialties, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. We have close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin.Psych and MSc courses and your professional development, CPD and research initiatives will be well supported.

You will join a dynamic, well-established, supportive Psychology service, which includes Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology and CBT therapists. The Adult Mental Health specialty (42.5 wte) is composed of 5 consultant led teams. Clinical work is conducted in GP surgeries, health centres and hospitals where we see both primary and secondary care referrals.

The work will be based in the Fife ‘Veterans First Point’ (V1P) service, which was established in 2015. This is a Fife wide service, providing a central ‘one stop shop’ approach for veterans from our admin base in Cardenden, community “drop ins” in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, and clinics in various parts of Fife. The holistic V1P model provides a range of social and mental health support to veterans. You will have responsibility for providing psychological therapies to Veterans. The full range of clinical presentations/complexity is represented and there are opportunities for group work and partnership work with other agencies. You will also contribute to service development, supervision, research and co-ordination of V1P. Personal experience of the military community and/or experience of working with veterans is desirable. More information regarding the V1P model can be found at .

You will also take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for research, professional development and contributing to that of others. The post is based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.
