Procurement Manager (Recycling Evidence)

Our client is a dynamic team of 35 people, with a passion to support their clients in the field of environmental compliance and to add value though innovation. With a fresh approach to packaging, waste electrical and battery regulations, their clients depend on them to manage their legal obligations and procure recycling evidence. Their clients cover 3 main sectors (Retail, Food & Drink / Technology / Manufacture and Import) and include major brands such as Coop, Honda and Virgin Media.

Position: Procurement Manager (Recycling Evidence)
Location: Aztec West, Bristol
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £Competitive
Benefits: Competitive wage, plus bonus; Full time permanent contract, 8 hours per day; 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, plus 3 volunteer days; Gym membership, 5 x salary life Insurance, 3 to 5% Pension, paid sick leave.

About the role:

They are looking for an independent, assertive and detailed person to ensure they procure fully traceable recycling evidence. The candidate must be able to achieve results through building relationships with suppliers, managing detail and creating innovative solutions. A background in waste management is desirable but not essential.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the purpose of this role is to work with their internal teams to forecast demand, then work with external suppliers to build security of supply at the right commercial terms.

Responsibilities:

- Procuring the required amount of evidence across packaging, batteries and WEEE
- Negotiating favourable commercial terms and building long term reliable relationships with suppliers
- Evidence supply compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and best practice
- Accountable for recording and registering evidence data
- Accountable for team management, development and support under direction of the Operations Director
- Support the Operations Director
- Provide expert technical advice and support to the company
- Support delivery and development of the overall company strategy

About you:

- Ability to build long term relationships and close deals
- Understand complex data and technical information
- Contacts within the waste industry
- Willing to travel and occasionally stay away from home
- An understanding of recycling, evidence supply and Environment Agency rules
- Leadership and management skills, with relevant experience
