The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large (95 wte) service comprising a range of clinical and health specialties, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin.Psych and MSc courses continue and your professional development, CPD and research initiatives will be well supported.

You will join a dynamic, well-established, supportive Clinical Health Psychology team, which includes Clinical & Health Psychologists. The Clinical Health specialty consists of posts which are embedded within multidisciplinary medical teams across the areas of Pain Management, Adult Weight Management, Rheumatology, Blood Born Virus, Oncology and Palliative Care and a General Medical Service which takes referrals for a wide range of other medical conditions. Clinical work is conducted in community based clinics across Fife and the two main hospitals located in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. You will provide specialist clinical assessment, treatment and consultancy. You will also contribute to the evaluation of the service, and to the development of evidence based practice. You should have expertise in delivering effective psychological interventions relating to a wide range of physical health problems and psychological aspects of chronic disease management. You will initially work within the General and Pain Management subspecialties of the service. However, you may be required to see patients with other types of physical health conditions, dependent upon the needs of the wider service.

You will also take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for research, professional development and contributing to that of others. The post will be based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline or Stratheden Hospital, Cupar.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.
