The Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, investment, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions. The broader organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day to day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.

Purpose of your role

As the Senior Business Analyst you will play a key role working with senior Business leaders and Product Owners within Fidelity International to facilitate the definition of viable business propositions and solution requirements to support Fidelity's wealth management aspirations.

You will need to define and develop key user journeys, core business models and data flows from client engagement channels through to the investment management and operational processes. You will ensure the core business goals are understood and will help shape large, high risk and complex initiatives. You will work collaboratively with solution architects, UX designers, product owners and the delivery teams in order to ensure that solutions address the requirements of the business.


The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of working in an Agile environment using Agile tools and techniques, behaviour driven development (BDD) as well as business analysis tools and techniques. You will have experience working with full scale Scrum or Kanban, and be a competent user of Jira and Confluence.

You will be required to effectively influence and assist key stakeholders, support multiple change initiatives and oversee and drive communication streams within the programme. A willingness to take on new challenges, collaborate and share knowledge freely with colleagues globally is also critical to success.

This role will face off to senior stakeholder in the organisation so the successful candidate will therefore be personable, articulate and have strong facilitation skills to help take initiatives forward.

As a senior member of the team you will be expected to drive innovation and continuous improvement, demonstrate leadership characteristics and display high degree of emotional intelligence.

Your key accountabilities

  • Support the detailed analysis into the early business propositions identifying key requirements, new functional and non-functional requirements to support Fidelity's Wealth Management aspirations.
  • Provide conceptual solutions to often complicated business problems / needs and make recommendations for preferred solutions, with consideration of associated risks, cost and timescales
  • Undertake requirements gathering and solutions through workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement
  • Undertake detailed data flow analysis to assist the business in the development of the proposition development activity making recommendations on approach whilst identifying potential issues and risks in the process
  • To write effective user stories that detail changes to the product/solution
  • To work with development and testing teams on the release of the product
  • To ensure that regulatory criteria is met through the design process
  • Detail the business benefits and ensure these are traced through and tracked and realised by the business
  • Work with senior management and executives to facilitate the sign off / agreement of solutions and recommendations via presentations/demos and workshops/meetings
  • Take ownership of traceability of analysis through development, testing etc.
  • Liaise with the business and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of dependencies, deliverables and issues
  • Undertake detailed analysis and re-engineering of processes related to the wealth management product sets

Your skills and experience

The successful candidate would be expected to have strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation and delivery ideally gained within a Wealth management business. The ability to understand technical design and assess approach to rectify any issues encountered is also important.

  • Detailed understanding of wealth management and how the digitalisation is transforming the sector
  • Detailed understanding of discretionary fund management, wealth management investments flows & operations
  • Experience of working in global wealth or asset management organisations
  • Successfully operated as a hands on business analyst in a lead role
  • Requirements analysis using structured techniques (Use Cases, Design Thinking etc.)
  • Strong logical and physical data analysis skills
  • End to end development using formal methodologies, agile or iterative techniques (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP)
  • Business process analysis and modelling and proficient in using them to communicate with business and technology
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience presenting recommendations
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • Experience of delivering change using an offshore model
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, and manage several tasks concurrently
