Finance Assistant job central Tunbridge Wells paying approx £20k focus on cash allocations and bank recs

Your new company
You will be working for an established public sector organisation in the centre of Tunbridge Wells. You will work within a varied role within a busy finance department. The Finance Assistant job is to identify and allocate high volume of income transactions received and maintain the petty cash.

Your new role
You will identify and accurately allocate incoming cash and cheques to customer accounts and ledger codes. Process income/returns received and code correctly. You with check debit/card payment reports from BACS and investigate discrepancies. You will maintain the bank suspense reports, identify and allocate payments. You will maintain the petty cash balances and cover other areas of the finance department to give you varied experience.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have either previous experience in a similar finance position or be studying the AAT qualification or a recent Degree in accountancy & Finance. You have great attention to detail and complete tasks with accuracy. You will be eager to learn and have good Excel skills.
