Lead Desktop Support Engineer - Permanent - Mansfield - £30,000

I am looking for an extremely competent Lead Desktop Support Engineer who is looking to join a highly commendable organisation with a highly renowned working environment and culture.

Responsibilities

*Lead the resolution of technical support issues affecting the internal estate of desktop hardware and software applications, in accordance with agreed SLAs/OLAs, providing assistance, advice and fixes where they are escalated to you (via the SD) for staff and customers
*Lead the configuration, design and maintenance regime for the Authority's desktop and mobile computing environments, ensuring that they remain appropriate and effective for both business and stakeholder needs, by developing and managing a structured programme of service development and continuous improvement.
*Lead the authoring, maintenance and review of knowledge base articles in use by Desktop and SD teams, ensuring that they are continuously reviewed and updated where appropriate to ensure that 1st line support fix rates are maximised.
*Collaboratively work with your System Administrator peers (supporting Wintel, Linux, AIX, virtualisation, networks, storage & backup, Oracle and SQL database administrators) to help support and maintain the Authority's estate of servers and applications, maintaining their CIA at all times

Ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in supporting an internal Desktop Infrastructure within a Public Sector environment. Experience working in a fast-paced environment is desirable and experience in troubleshooting networking protocols.

Essential Skills

*Significant proven track record in IT support/system administration.
*Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems support, image creation and deployment
* Mobile Device Management - including deployments and upgrades
*Anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-ransomware implementations across virtualised and physical server estates

Systems management software (eg: System Centre Configuration Manager - SCCM) to automate and deliver:

*Patch management
*Software distribution
*Operating system deployment/upgrade/patching
*Network access protection
*Hardware and software inventory management
