What is the purpose of this role?

The purpose of this role is to provide cross-regional cover for CFS Regional Planning Managers outside of core working hours, managing and promoting priorities for effective work planning, focused on customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

Why is this role unique?

This is an interesting role working in our new Slough offices with the Regional Planning Managers, Network Manager and WNS Contractor to agree regional planning priorities, balancing capacity for day-to-day customer-driven work, proactive preventative maintenance and escalated priorities You will be responsible for the day-to-day reports in the WNS contractor organisation including Team Leads, operating in shifts of up to 10, with indirect responsibility outside core of hours for regional planning teams up to c. XX people. Juggling the priorities of various stakeholders will prove to be a good challenge. This role can also provide a stepping stone to the next opportunity if you are up for the challenge!
What will this role involve?

The Manager will:

Promote and follow the priorities consistently to the regional planning teams.
Take responsibility for the day-to-day promotion of priorities to regional planning teams.
Uphold agree priorities with both internal & external stakeholders, acting as a focal point for escalations and providing support to teams to resolve competing issues.
Maintain compliance with standard processes and procedures. Identify improvement opportunities and sponsor their delivery.
Support others to manage the performance of individuals.
Work collaboratively with other regions, field teams and related functions to ensure best coverage of resources and priorities across all regions.
Provide continuity outside core hours and manage effective handover to and from Regional Planning Managers.

What skills are we looking for?

Do you have previous experience in a reactive & planning environment? Do you enjoy working in a stakeholder-focused role? We are looking for an experienced operational leader who has understanding of the sewer network, H&S management and can demonstrate commercial acumen. Influencing and communication skills are key to be successful as well as a focus on driving performance to deliver excellent customer service. Due to the nature of this role an ability to work flexible hours is essential.
