We are looking for an assertive individual to join us as Scrum Master, ensuring the Scrum team is well-run and focused, meeting targets for tangible deliverables. As Scrum Master you will own the Scrum process for one of the Scrum teams as well as guiding the business with backlog management. You will engage a wide range of stakeholders ensuring the relationships between the team, product owner or project manager and stakeholders work effectively. Helping to create a highly motivated environment and a culture of sustainability, you will play a role in helping the wider organisation understand Agile and Scrum. Whilst working closely with the Product Owner, you will manage impediments and act as an enabler for these being solved. In addition you will: Maintain an honest and open approach and a good understanding of digital trends and technologies and use this to help improve the backlog Plan retrospectives effectively and encourage a feedback loop that results in direct action and improvements, building a culture of iterative improvement Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution Ensure all testing and review activity is properly scheduled and carried out Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency. To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of the basic fundamentals of iterative development, including incremental delivery and the value of metrics, as well as basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures. You will be familiar with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments and better development practices and also have an understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity and task definition. Dynamic, energetic and self-motivated, you will be assertive enough to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to whilst providing a voice of reason and authority. You will also have: Proven conflict management skills with the ability to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the international gaps left in the Scrum approach Knowledge of other Agile approaches, for example XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
