DBA - Skipton

Harvey Nash is working very closely with a reputable and well known organisation based in Skipton. This is an exciting time for a SQL Database Administrator to join our clients Service Operations team based in Skipton.

This team provides databases across EMEA operations and is responsible for ensuring data is safe, secure and performing at optimum levels using different technologies mainly based on SQL Server 2014 and Oracle 11g.

You will be required to support and administer production database environments along with owning and resolving database related incidents and requests and ensuring that these are resolved within agreed SLAs and guidelines.

You will have outstanding communication skills and you will work with key stakeholders across the business on a regular basis. You will also be required to review service related reports and notifications to ensure that any issues are quickly identified and fixed.

An additional responsibility will require you to ensure that database systems are highly available and that they comply with global and regional standards.

Please note the team operate an on-call rota which you will be expected to be part of.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Database Administrator proficient in MS SQL Server. You will have a proven ability to troubleshoot and provide resolutions to database problems. You will also be experienced in Performance Tuning and Optimisation. You will have good knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server.

To be considered for the role you will must have strong SQL skills. You may also be a SQL Developer looking to make a move into Database Administration. Our client will consider most versions of SQL Server (SQL 2008 R2 - 2017). Strong Oracle 11g/12c skills will also be considered.
