About Big Society Capital Big Society Capital improves the lives of people in the UK by connecting social investment to charities and social enterprises. We engage with investors, fund managers, charities and social enterprises to make it easier to use social investment. With our co-investors, we have made over £1bn of new capital available to organisations with a social mission, through investments into fund managers and social banks. We have a special focus on: providing homes for people in need; supporting communities to improve lives; and early action to prevent problems. Key purpose of role This is an exciting opportunity to join Big Society Capital as we implement our new strategy to improve lives across the UK. As a member of the Communications team, you will lead on our relationships with national, trade and financial sector journalists, and develop high quality case studies that demonstrate our social impact. You will shape effective communications programmes to raise the profile of our work with key stakeholders, using traditional media and social media channels. Key responsibilities This will be a varied role, delivering across traditional media and social media channels. Key areas will include:? Manage the press office Writing content for a range of outlets, including opinion pieces and blogs Developing relationships with key media outlets Developing and pitching media stories Proactive and reactive media relations Driving engagement through social media channels Reviewing financial promotions and ensuring compliance with regulations Supporting staff and directors to understand and promote key messages Application is by covering letter (no more than one side of A4) and CV (no more than two sides of A4), clearly stating where you saw the advert, sent to jobs@bigsocietycapital.com via the portal below.
