Maths Teacher - September Start
ITN Mark Education is recruiting for a Maths Teacher for a secondary school near Taunton. The job starts in September, and the school is looking to interview as soon as possible.
You could be a PGCE student looking to get ahead of the game, find a job and then concentrate on making the best of your training year, or you might be a bit more experienced and looking for a change of department next academic year. The school is not focused on your level of experience; the governors and head teacher are much more concerned with your attitude to teaching and learning, and making a difference for the students in your classroom.
There is a real focus on pastoral care at the school, and the way the house system works is a reflection in their belief in the importance of good home-school contacts.
If you're going to be an NQT, the fact that the school has been judged as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and is in the top 25% of schools nationally in the Progress 8 measure should give you the confidence that this is going to be an excellent place for you to complete your induction.
You'll be teaching a full timetable (with allowances made if you're going to be an NQT) of Maths lessons from Key Stage 3-4. You probably aren't going to have exam classes if you're a new member of staff, so you will need to grow into the role and show commitment before you take your own class through their GCSE exams.
