Catch 22 is a leading Facilities Management Recruitment Business with a network of clients across the UK. Our Technical Services Division is working in partnership with one of the UK's top 20 Facilities Management Contractors as we seek to source and appoint three experienced Maintenance Engineers - 1 x Electrical Bias, 1 x Commercial Gas Bias, 1 x Air Conditioning Bias; with suitable qualifications and experience in a similar role. Core qualifications would include 17th Edition / COCN Certification or FGAS Certification and additional experience with general HVAC and Property Maintenance would be preferred. This is to cover a total of 8 educational establishments between Sheffield, Scunthorpe and Grimsby. The Client: Established since the early 1960's, our client has become one of the leading players in Built Environment Construction and Maintenance, with over 2000 staff nationwide and a glowing reputation across all sectors - but notably in the Healthcare and Education PFI Environment. The company has evolved and developed a range of in-house services and now offers clients a complete 'cradle to grave' service, from acting as Principal Contractor, providing a complete construction service, through a comprehensive range of building, prefabrication, technical, fit-out and facilities management services including renewable technologies. They turnover in excess of £200,000,000 per annum and continue to build a first class reputation for construction and operational support services. The Role: Key Function is to support the line manager and the other members of the team in the delivery of the existing FM contracts. This will be achieved via the practical implementation of the company's management system and the utilisation of the candidate's knowledge and experience. The Engineer will ensure the satisfactory performance and further development of all tasks for which he/she is responsible including: Compliance with contractual requirements. Client satisfaction and the quality of service provided. Responsibility for the undertaking and execution of all operations under their remit and reporting directly to Identifying and implementing innovations to improve service delivery Ensuring the company systems are implemented in a manner, which fully complies with all legal, qualitative, health, safety and environmental standards and other relevant guidance. Ensuring, demonstrate, review and monitor compliance, to meet the expectation and needs of the Client, the quality and organisational goals of the company and satisfy the requirements of BS EN IS0 9001:2000 Monitoring and professional oversight of works as directed by their line manager to ensure satisfactory quality levels. Developing the competency of themselves through a commitment to continuing professional development. To maintain a driving licence to remain mobile allowing travel between sites. Participation in a 24 hour 7 day per week on call service is mandatory. The Candidate: The successful candidate will have the following: Electrical: 17th edition wiring regulations certification City & Guilds 2330, 2360, 2391/92/94/95 would be ideal alongside a full apprenticeship in an electrical discipline Gas: ACS / Gas Safe Certification in Commercial Disciplines (COCN1, CODNCO, etc) Air Con: FGAS Certification and NVQ Level II+ in a relevant discipline A reasonable level of post apprenticeship experience in an FM or building services maintenance position is essential. This is NOT a role suited to pure installation / refurb / shop fitting electricians. Knowledge of building services, i.e.: LPHW systems, CWS systems, VAV's, Fan coil Units, fire alarm systems (for testing purposes), AHU's, boilers first fix etc. A Full driving licence. Understanding of asset management principals and maintenance techniques. Experience of operating a management system i.e. ISO 9001:2000, 14001, 18001. A pro-active attitude. Excellent communication skills including verbal and the written word. The ability to form relationships with clients and to exceed customer expectation. Approachable demeanour and a demonstrable commitment to team working. A commitment to continuing professional development. Willing to partake in all building services disciplines PDBS clearance (formerly a CRB check) - this can be taken post appointment but candidates must have a relatively clean criminal record that would not restrict them from working with children or vulnerable adults. The Benefits: Salary will be negotiable - most likely between £30,000 and £31,000 - and will be dependant on qualifications and experience. 30 Days holidays including bank holidays. Hours of work will normally be Mon - Fri: 08.00 - 17.00 although this may be varied from time to time depending on the needs of the company. A company vehicle will be provided. Payment for participation in a 24 hour 7 day per week on call service will be made at £100 per week. Expected rota is 1 in 4 (approx). There are ample opportunities for earning additional income via overtime and emergency call out coverage.
