Qualified SEN Teaching Assistants must: ***Have 6+ months previous experience working within SEN ***Must have a current DBS Children disclosure within 3 years of issue **Be able to travel to Haringey and be there for 8:30am **£60-95 per day, dependant on experience **Be proactive, show initiative at all times and have a firm but fair approach **PECS/Makaton/BSL/Maybo/Team Teach or some form of restraint experience is preferred The School - Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant The school is roughly a 10 minute walk from several stations, there are also several buses you can get. They have almost 200 students, aged 2-16, within the school. All of the pupils either have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Needs. The school has exceptional facilities and grounds and a positive, tailored approach to maximise students learning potential. They have a fantastic team who can provide excellent training and support, regardless of whether you are employed on a permanent or temporary basis. The school have access to speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, a dietician, health care assistants and a school nurse who are all based on the school sites. They also work very closely with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and Social Care. The Role - Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant This Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant role is within a brilliant SEN school that I have the pleasure of working closely with. They are looking for a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant who has previous experience within SEN and someone who can work to inspire and achieve! The ideal candidate will have worked in a school with students that have a range of complex needs such as ASD, PMLD and SLD. The role would require the candidate to be comfortable dealing with personal care, including toileting and feeding and also with restraining students. As a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant you would be supporting the emotional, social and academic development of the students you work with to optimize learning and maximise comfort.
