About this Role: A World leading Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to engage a General Foreman to work a part of a major Network Upgrade for Southern Water. Due to an influx of work coming through on the AMP6 framework they are recruiting for a number of General Foremen across sites on the South Coast in the counties of Hampshire, Sussex and Kent in particular. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for controlling all physical elements of the work from commencement through to the issue of the Maintenance Certificate and to maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability. Roles/Responsibilities; * Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations; * Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications; * Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant; * Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect; * Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project; * Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress; * Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines; * Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site; * Preparing reports as required; * Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. Additional duties will include Site Supervision, Managing Health & Safety, Report Writing, Toolbox talks, Holding meetings, programming of works. Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry Ideally had experience or exposure of the Water Industry and Network Upgrades SMSTS/SSSTS NRSWA First Aid trained Preferably confined space trained The Requirements Preferably from a permanent background with a Tier 1 Contractor, it is expected that you have extensive, demonstrable experience in a Civil Engineering environment. You will be in possession of SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, as well as lift supervisor, service coordinator, , NRSWA and temporary works certificates would be highly advantageous. Extensive experience of Highways and Structures is essential.
