Job Title: Commercial Accountant Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 DOE Position: Fixed Term Contract (4-5 months) Location: Milton Keynes Your job role will include… * Producing routine project finance reports with particular emphasis on revenue and margin performance. * Assisting in the review and analysis of project finances to identify areas of risk and opportunities to improve both revenue and profit. * Undertaking a comprehensive review of monthly sales invoices to ensure these are completed to a high level of accuracy. * Building core reports (Operational Activity Spreadsheets) for new projects to ensure project finances can be tracked from the outset. Update these as required. * Assisting in the setting and reviewing of project revenue and margin forecasts. * Developing new and ad hoc reporting as appropriate including from SAGE data and the exploitation of SAS/Visual Analytics. * From a finance perspective develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the Clinical Trial project portfolio in order to add value to decision making. * Building strong and effective relationships with Project Teams particularly with Project Managers. * Preparing annual statutory accounts for all group companies including overseas subsidiaries and non-trading entity. * Supporting annual audit. * Undertaking monthly balance sheet FX revaluations. * Producing all intercompany invoices. * Maintaining and developing dividend calculation process. * P11D tracking and submissions. * Minority shareholder rebate tracking. * Supporting the development of corporation tax forecasting and reporting. * Carrying out quarterly tax returns including VAT, GST (Australia) and CT 61. * Working closely with management accountants ensuring statutory and management accounts are materially consistent. * Playing a full part in supporting the exploitation of existing systems and the upgrading to any new applications. * Adopting a positive and proactive approach to continuous improvement across all finance processes and procedures. * In time developing knowledge and ability to cover for management accountant particularly for production of monthly management accounts. * Undertaking and supporting any activity on the Finance team particularly when other team members are undertaking other work, on holiday or sick. You will require the following experience and skills for the role… * At least part qualified or significant QBE. * Ideally worked in a fast growth SME environment. * Experience of multi currency accounting and associated revaluations. * Previous experience working with overseas offices e.g. US teams. * Previous in depth experience of using SAGE (50/200) or a similar accounting package. * Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, V look ups and ability to develop and interpret insightful MI. SAS and Visual Analytics would be useful, but not essential. * An ability to prioritise workloads effectively. * A high level of discretion, tact and diplomacy. * Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. * Highly motivated with an ability to work as part of team and independently. * Attention to detail and self-driven to deliver high quality output and to seek continuous improvements. * Flexible attitude. * Degree not essential * CIMA/ACCA/ACA part qualified or significant QBE.
