QC Inspector Up to £28,000K Birmingham Purpose: To monitor and validate the Quality of Parts and/or Assemblies and to provide specialist inspection capability across business functions. Also to carry out Goods Inwards bookings. Working Hours Staff position. 37 hour week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.00pm and Friday 7.30am, with 30 minutes lunch per day. Additional hours will be expected to be worked as per business needs. Skills and Qualifications Experience of working in an ISO 9001 certified Company Inspection environment Familiar with general inspection techniques and their appropriate selection Recognised CMM operator training preferred Experience operating CMM machines (current model: Aberlink Zenith 3) essential and programming CMM machines (using ‘Solidworks’ software) preferred Ability to read, interpret and interrogate engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing essential Familiar with FAIR requirements preferred, Knowledge of FMEA and PPAP desirable but not essential ONC/HNC level or equivalent desirable Internal Auditor desirable Basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages desirable Forklift truck (counterbalance) training/experience preferred and Full UK Driving licence essential Main Responsibilities Dimensional and visual inspection of piece parts, partially and fully completed Assemblies to drawing requirements. Compilation/completion of FAIRs and supporting documentation (Route Cards etc.) to provide evidence of conformity of process and product. Perform Goods Inwards product quality & supporting paperwork checks (CofC, Purchase Order, FAIR’s etc.) in accordance with business processes. Evaluate conformance to drawing requirements. Conduct Patrol Inspection of random stages to ensure compliance to drawing and process. Ensure effective resolution of any identified non-conforming parts throughout the process Liaise with Suppliers and internal staff to help resolve queries when required Ensure identification and traceability of all parts through all stages of production is maintained (Including delivery) Support Quality Engineer where appropriate Support the internal Calibration Programme for measurement equipment Any other reasonable task the quality manager may deem as suitable for the role. PERSONAL COMPETENCES Highly motivated and customer focused individual with the ability to work on own initiative, with a pro-active strategic approach to challenges, but also an ‘effective team player’ with the ability to take a systematic approach to daily operations Computer literate, ideally experience with: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Navision Due to nature of work the individual Must be a ‘sole UK National
