We are currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly primary school based in Rochester, Kent who are hoping to hire an experienced year 4 teacher on a permanent basis starting ASAP. Although the school will also consider candidates to start after Easter 2018. The school plays a huge part in the local community and has been established since the 1800’s. It is now known within the area for its great resources, due it’s recent renovations and restructure. About the role You will be working alongside other Key Stage 2 teachers and a Deputy Head, who will support you in the planning and preparation of your lessons. You will work closely with the SLT to achieve and maintain the high standards of teaching the pupils experience. There are 30 pupils in the class and you will also have the assistance of a TA every day, all day. You will also be setting homework every Friday and will be required to mark this, as well as reporting on the children’s progress. PPA time is provided for you to plan and mark your own lessons. The school would also like the selected candidate to take a lead on a specialist subject with the option of ICT, Maths, Science, Humanities or Design Technology. What you will need to apply To be considered for the above position, you will need: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)- This can be obtained via the traditional PGCE route or Teach First/ SCITT • At least 18 months experience teaching in the UK. (Although the school are happy to consider teachers who were trained in Australia/ New Zealand/ Canada) • Have a valid DBS registered to the DBS Update Service. • Be able to provide 2 references from your 2 most recent employers.
