Linux Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer - Southampton - £neg

Austin Fraser are working with a large tech company based near Southampton to find an experienced Linux SysAdmin or DevOps Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The company are in an exciting time at the moment, with their Development team working on innovative and collaborative projects day in day out. They are now looking for someone to come on board and help shape the way their DevOps team will be growing.

In terms of the person they are looking for, anyone with exposure to Cloud platforms, extensive Linux Infrastructure knowledge, experience in Configuration Management tools and automation. A collaborative approach, good sense of humor and a relentless work ethic are all also a must have.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Automate and continuously improve the continuous delivery infrastructure.
  • Automate and continuously improve other operational concerns.
  • Actively share knowledge and best practices.

Required Skills;

  • OS - Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
  • Configuration Management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
  • Excellent and clean Scripting (Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, Go)

Desired Skills;

  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher)
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • CI/CD (Jenkins)
  • Databases (MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Oracle)
