DevOps / Systems Engineer - London


You will work closely with the Product Development team to build, deploy and support custom sites, services & applications.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, and related authentication, authorisation, system security, and layered products
  • Provide Tier-II/III support and escalation of a 24x7x365 Production environment, which includes an on-call rotation that is responsible for addressing issues on all critical systems during extended coverage periods
  • Be a representative of the Systems Engineering team on collaborative technical projects
  • Act as a technical escalation point for System Administrators and Engineers
  • Automate tasks and processes with scripts and third-party tools
  • Develop and maintain the security standards to continue to achieve PCI compliance for the company
  • Coordinate and implement key infrastructure technologies including, but not limited to, domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.), system management tools, monitoring tools, databases, web services, server virtualisation (AWS, VMWare), and integration tools
  • Support, maintain, and improve systems documentation, policies and procedures
  • Manage the scheduling and implementation of upgrades, modifications and installations on systems
  • Manage the evaluation and implementation of any application necessary for the Operations team to complete the day-to-day management of enterprise systems and applications

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years DevOps or System Engineering experience
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2008/R2, 2012/R2)
  • Linux/Unix Operating Systems experience is essential
  • Strong deployment and configuration management experience required
  • Understanding of application and network load balancing technologies
  • Knowledge and application of ticketing principles, commercial models and marketing
  • Experience with deployment automation tools such as Octopus, Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Proficient in designing and deploying environments in Amazon Web Services, with functional experience with VPCs, EC2, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, CloudFront, and Route 53
