Data Quality Analyst

My client is a highly prestigious financial services firm located in the heart of the City, London.

The client is looking for a Data Quality Analyst to join the Data Management team on a permanent basis. Ideal candidates will have experience of underwriting systems and the London Insurance Market, specifically Lloyd's.

£40,000 - £45,000 + Excellent benefits package.

Purpose of Job:

The Data Management Team is responsible for the management of the group's data management processes. The Data Management Team also provides reporting into a number of key business processes, across the organisation, notably Finance and Actuarial.

The focus of the Data Management Team is to improve the quality and delivery of the data held within the organisations core systems and Data Warehouse in order that the ongoing compliance requirements are met, and that the recipients of this data can make better decisions which ultimately affect the financial performance of the company.

The Data Quality Analyst role forms an integral part of the Data Management Team, supporting the organisation in achieving its on-going Data Management goals.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Key point of contact for analysis of data quality exception rules as identified, providing exception rules to manage ongoing data exceptions, including full administration of the data exception request log and provision of periodic report to stakeholders
  • Assist with the data quality exception reporting into various forums, committees & teams through a number of different mediums
  • Liaise with the business regularly, to identify gaps and amendments required in a BAU environment, to provide the best delivery possible
  • Support the change control environment implemented over the data quality exception tool (DQPro)
  • Testing, analysis and documentation of key software releases provided by external software companies.
  • Support the implementation of the data quality log (DQL) into the current data exception tool (DQPro)
  • Oversight of Data Quality Controls across the business to support data quality control objectives and provide reporting into key stakeholders
  • Support the Data Management Team in the implementation of the Solvency II data management outputs plus ongoing management of data management initiatives as and when they arise
  • Support with performance management of stakeholders, through analysis of reports relating to the resolution of data quality exceptions

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Data Manager as line manager
  • Prioritisation of data quality remediation activity, in conjunction with the Data Manager, Team Leader and other key stakeholders.
  • Plans and manages own assignments: Monitors delivery against scope and timescales
  • Conduct Quality assurance of data analysis / reporting outputs

Skills, Competencies and Experience

The following attributes would be beneficial to the role of a Data Quality Analyst:

Technical Skills

  • Excel functionality to an advanced user level
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS SQL
  • Data analysis tools and techniques
  • Microsoft Visio (Intermediate)
  • Documentation experience (intermediate)

The following would be beneficial, but not essential to the role:

  • Business Analysis - ISEB or similar certification
  • Visual basic and macro's to an intermediate level
  • Business process modelling
  • Power BI to a basic level
