Essential
*A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or demonstrable experience in a relevant field.
*Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of Linux.
*Considerable experience of Linux system administration in a production environment.
*Experience of configuration management tools (for example, Chef, Ansible, Puppet).
*Experience setting up and managing virtual machines in a Linux environment.
*Experience writing UNIX shell scripts, including a good knowledge of Bash.
*Experience building and deploying Java web applications, including knowledge of Maven and Tomcat.
*Experience deploying and maintaining open source databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.
*Self-motivated; able to work both independently and in a team; able to manage time effectively, and deliver within a defined timeframe.
*Ability to write clear and accurate documentation appropriate for its target audience.
*Ability to deliver with a flexible approach in an environment with competing demands and deadlines.
*Innovative and positive approach.
*Desire to learn new technologies and the ability to adapt.
*Willing to work across different projects in the Centre for Health Informatics as deemed necessary by the Information Systems Programme Manager and other senior stakeholders.
