IBM Cobol CICS Developer


£36,000 - £45,000

We are looking for a talented Cobol Developer to provide support to a number of key applications in Cobol, CICS, VSAM primarily. You will also support and develop in-house and migrated systems within an IBM mainframe environment. Any System migration experience would be beneficial.

Essential Criteria:

  • Commercial experience in Cobol, JCL, CICS, VSAM, TSO, SDSF, Life and Pensions
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Requires an enthusiastic approach to working in a challenging and demanding environment where priorities can change at short notice.
  • Have a proven ability showing that they can work using their own initiative and whilst under pressure.
  • Be able to demonstrate a logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent research and analysis skills.
  • Integrate quickly and work well within a team.
  • Build working relationships quickly with their user community.
  • Must be self-motivated and display a high degree of focus.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Commercial experience of DB2.
  • Any experience of some of the skills below would also be advantageous:
  • CAPSIL, CA products, Easytrieve, Objectstar, Supra, Mantis
