Family Engagement Worker Have you got what it takes to support prisoners and their families? Position: Family Engagement Worker Location: HMP East Sutton Park Job type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £22,000 per annum Benefits: Generous holiday entitlement, free information advice and counselling, child care vouchers plus more Closing date: 18th January 2018 Interview Date Commencing: 29th January 2018 About the Role: As a Family Engagement Worker you will develop referral pathways for families, prisoners and other professionals to access the service; as well as deliver a service that ensures prisoners, their children, carers and other relatives have access to appropriate advice, guidance, learning opportunities, care and support to better enable them to maintain or enhance positive relationships. You will also, advocate for families dealing with imprisonment, promoting their human rights and ensuring their needs are considered, and views are heard at all levels. In addition to use tools and systems to support case management such as E-Cins case management system and other casework tools such as radar. Lastly you will, oversee the recruitment of appropriate prisoners and families for Family Groupwork courses in support of complementary services offered by Pact; involving ensuring security approval has been given for the recruited prisoners, that rooms have been secured and support other arrangements to ensure each course is a success. About You: To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable capacity to coordinate a broad service, as well as experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally involving offenders and/or their families. You will have experience of casework with service users, and of maintaining clear, up to date records. You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load. You will have the ability to contribute to planning and development of Pact`s family work and also have knowledge of safeguarding/child protection practice. Furthermore you will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in build partnerships with a range of agencies.
