We are recruiting for a global leader in the Oil & Gas sectors that specialise in Oil Field Pumping Equipment and are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Manager for opportunities to join their team in Manchester. If you have a background in Oil & Gas / Engineering and a proven track record in a Engineering Technical Manager role then this could be your next career move. You MUST have experience with Oil Field Pumping equipment and/or Cavity Pumps. With potential salary earnings up to £50k and flexible working hours on offer, this opportunity is not one to be missed. There is also a relocation package on offer. As Engineering Technical Manager you will lead the product sustaining engineering team and utilise your technical knowledge and professional experience to contribute to the delivery of industrial solutions- currently pumping and solids handling product lines- to improve these existing product ranges and support our internal and external customers` needs. You will be challenged to build and implement effective systems that will allow accurate planning and will result in positive on time delivery results. An appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision making, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with and drive other team members are all critical for success in this role. You will be required to provide deliverables for the purpose of evaluating design alternatives, cost estimation and establishing manufacturing routes whilst acting as a focal point for mechanical technical matters. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems - Liaise with intercompany, intracompany, and external teams and customers to ascertain the project requirements - Drive performance through structured tiered meetings using daily, weekly and monthly metrics - Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends; recommending actions - Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved - Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times - Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customised, forward-looking customer-centric solutions - Maintain a keen global market awareness - Reduce cost of product and increased production throughput through new design simplification and existing product redesign - Perform data analysis and present modification & upgrade programs through quick and accurate engineering analyses (FEA, hand calculations etc.) - Ensure all deliverables are verified and validated in accordance with all relevant Company policies and regulatory requirements - Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion - Lead internal design review meetings being aware of commercial implications - Ensure that internal checking and approvals procedures are adhered to - Ensure Company Engineering Change Procedures are adhered to - Ensure Customer Care and Quality are always at the forefront - Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the team - Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes - Ensure correct and thorough maintenance of project documentation - Produce and check Mechanical engineering documentation deliverables - Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained - Absence management - Employee engagement - Conducting all stages of disciplinary meetings - Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager - Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department - Ensure compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy - Travel as and when required Qualifications: - HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent - Tertiary education in an Engineering discipline Experience: - Experience in a similar engineering position but specific experience with Pumps and/or Rotating Equipment - Leading of cross-functional meetings - Working knowledge within an industrial/production environment - Experience of supervising a team Skills, training or special knowledge: - Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) - Pumps and/or Rotating Equipment - Knowledge of The Machinery (Safety) Directive, PED, ATEX and REACH and their application within Engineering Design. - Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software to produce Engineering designs and drawings to relevant standards - An understanding of the requirements of Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Maintenance PLEASE CONTACT GARY ROCKCLIFFE ON 07526168069 TO DISCUSS FURTHER
