Tax and Trusts Assistant Sheffield £18,000

My client is a leading well established law firm with a well established client base.
An enviable opportunity exists for someone looking for a career within the the legal accounts sector specifically working within the trusts and court of protection department. This role would be ideal if you have had an initial grounding in accounts or legal administration and be looking for the next step. Full training will be given, however individuals must demonstrate drive and interest to succeed in this area.

Key responsibilities include:
*Carrying out tax reviews and submitting annual tax returns to HMRC, preparing tax returns and repayment claims, preparing tax calculations, making tax payments, reclaiming overpaid tax
*Maintaining excellent and up to date records of tax papers
*Preparing trust accounts using bespoke systems
*Preparation of bills for a variety of matters including drafting bill narratives
*Liasing and corresponding with, and monitoring, third parties associated with Court of protection billing process
*Reviewing and considering assessed bills prepared by costs assessor. Monitoring costs and assisting the team management in regard to establishing best working practices.

The Person

*Ideally, you will have a good grounding of working within a legal administrative role or have worked in an accounting setting and be looking to develop your experience.
*Ideally, you will have a broad understanding with tax and be a competent user of IT packages.
*Excellent opportunity if you are currently working in a finance administrative or legal administrative role and are looking to develop these skills.
