Field Service Engineer – Senior Engineer £25,245.00 for Dewsbury Area 8.00-5.00 plus overtime when required Bonus scheme Starting hols 22 day rising to 25 Pension following probation period Modern service van Staff uniform provided - Overalls and foot wear provided Full product training working on a modern dealer fleet of equipment Ideal candidates from the forklift industry but would consider plant, HGV etc Minimum /requirement: Must have attended at least 2 product training courses Technical knowledge requirements (At this point an engineer can have a bias to either IC or electrical trucks) Electrical knowledge •Be able to read both electrical and IC truck wiring diagrams •Have a reasonable ability to diagnose electrical faults on both IC and battery trucks •Be able to use a multi meter •Be able or know how to use the following CAN units Curtis, Sevcon, Zapi. Hydraulic knowledge •Be able to read a hydraulic schematic diagram •Carry out a pressure test and be capable of setting relief pressure on the following: - •Main pressure, secondary pressure, steering pressure •Be able to strip and reassemble a hydraulic valve bank, cylinder and gear pumps Transmission: - carry out a full pressure test both electronically (on certain models) and manually using pressure gauges and diagnose problems Purpose of Position Be able to interpret the test information for Main, forward /reverse clutch, torque converter pressure and carry out a full stall test. To provide a professional, efficient & responsive service support to customers by means of maintaining & repairing materials handling equipment to the highest standard whilst maintaining Health and Safety standards. Always ensuring you provide value for money for both the customer and the company. Key Result Areas & Results To undertake the repair & maintenance of customer owned & fleet trucks on customers sites. Carry out fault diagnosis to identify reported breakdowns. Repair of equipment wherever possible as a first time fix. Ensure all damage and faults are highlighted to customers and recorded accurately on appropriate Forkway documentation. Obtain purchase order numbers as per procedure. Ensure a value for money service is provided and the recommendations are a fair assessment of the repair required. Work can be invoiced accurately to the correct individual following all Company requirements. Perform cost effective repairs on Forkway rental equipment or all-inclusive contracts to ensure maximum profitability and return. Full Health and Safety compliance whilst maximizing return on investment. To accurately complete all paperwork required within the role, servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident reports, timesheets, quotes etc in a timely fashion. Paperwork is completed and sent to the office within the stipulated time period. To work closely with sales team, informing them of any potential leads. Continued business development. To ensure service van is kept clean & tidy and van stock is maintained and profiled to customer base. Maintain Company image, department efficiency and first time fix rate. To follow all Company, customer and Governmental Health & Safety policies and procedures. The safety of yourself, your colleagues, customers or other third parties is never put at risk. To ensure all allocated work is performed to the specified standard and within the allocated time period. Maximise own efficiency without burdening other colleagues. Ensure necessary replacement parts and spares for stock are ordered promptly. Customer downtime is minimised. Ensure all Company issued tools and safety/protective equipment are kept in a satisfactory condition reporting all deficiencies immediately. Quality of workmanship is maintained at the prescribed level and risk of personal or third party injury is minimised
