With teams of design, application and service engineers based across the globe – we can engineer, manufacture and support industrial rotating machinery for a variety of industries including: • Cement • Defence • Oil & Gas • Marine & Port Operations • Mining & Minerals • Paper, Tissue & Fibre • Power Generation • Rail • Sugar Processing • Specialist Applications • Water & Wastewater Manufacturing & Service • With full in-house design and manufacturing we ensure our customers receive machine systems that add value to their processes as well as industry-leading customer support. • Our manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 accredited and we have highly qualified service experts ready to support you wherever you are and whenever you need us Job Description • Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager within the team, create/contribute to the generation of innovative, cost effective and compliant design solutions to meet customer and business requirements. • Provide technical input to enable & support the cost effective design, manufacture of new units, repair & upgrade schemes and supporting equipment such as test rigs. • This may include design work and schemes across all product types/sectors served, • Liaison with clients, suppliers and other engineering and functional teams during project work is an integral part of the role • Interpretation and comprehension of customer and other specification requirements • Design new systems, components and associated subsystems • Design test rigs for new and refurbished product • Modify or otherwise develop existing designs where needed for existing or new applications • Contribute to the design review process and provide technical support to other business teams and functions as directed • Carry out full scale engineering projects and contracts within program management process, working flexibly and within other UK engineering teams as business needs require • Create cost effective and innovative design proposals, solutions and layouts to support the bid process • 3D/2D CAD literate, Solid Edge preferred. • Practical knowledge of drawing and tolerancing standards & BOM generation, SAP literate • Develop modification schemes and/or re-engineering of existing designs for new applications • Define/design test equipment requirements for refurbished, modified and new solutions as necessary alongside Development Engineering team • Approve concessions or deviations from drawing standard • Fault find and problem solve design related issues • Assist in the development of new design processes to improve quality cost and delivery Experience Required • At least 5 years in a relevant engineering design role • Understanding of product costing methods • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques • General/outline familiarity with the operating systems of an engineering business • Commercially aware • Proven track record more important than level of qualification • Able to effectively represent the company in front of suppliers and customers • knowledge of manufacturing techniques • Detailed knowledge of materials and processing techniques • Abreast of new developments in the field • Confident to present to customers and company executives Benefits • Competitive Salary • Pension • Sick Pay • Paid Holidays • Training • Career Development and Progression plans • Possible sponsorship of further qualifications • Relocation
