An expanding Welshpool company is looking to recruit a Software Engineer, permanent position on offer to start in January '18 You will become a key part of a software engineering team working on various projects, product development and service provision. The job involves the bidding for, designing, implementing, testing and after-sales support of systems for the International Defence and Industrial market sectors. Ideally we look for candidates with 2 years commercial programming experience however candidates with an academic bias towards cryptography will also be considered. Candidate will be involved in one or more of the following product developments or customer projects: •Development of Secure Data Management Enterprise Solutions for Financial Institutions and for Identity Security. •Next generation development of bespoke devices for the Defence Sector. •Development of system inter operability and security products. Defence and Government sectors and IoT opportunities. Must Have •The ability to develop Enterprise Application Software on mobile phone clients and server back ends. •The ability to design and develop OO solutions on Windows 10 and/or Ubuntu. •An understanding of Cryptographic technologies and the ability to incorporate them into software applications. •Knowledge of programming in OO languages C++, C# and Java. •Experience with markup language XML and transfer protocol HTTPS. •Experience of developing web applications and relational databases. Highly desirable •Development of Android and iPhone mobile applications. •Design and implementation of Java (or Kotlin) server back ends. •Experience with developing digital contracts. •Cryptographic software implementation. •Experience with either Windows bCrypt/nCrypt libraries or OpenSSL under Linux. •P2P protocols such as BitTorrent and IPFS. •MS Visual Studio, Android Studio, XCode and the Eclipse IDE. •Understanding of Peer to Peer version control such as GIT and Mercurial from both a conceptual and functional perspective. •UML or other system Modelling technology (ideally SysML with Enterprise Architect). •Good Software Configuration Management and Issue Management experience. •Software test and Coding Standard compliance experience. Ideally have •Kotlin programming with the Corda framework. •Knowledge of Bitcoin, Blockchain and Etherium. •Knowledge of Cryptographic tools such as Bouncy Castle or Spongy Castle. •Python. •Ability to configure and manage a Debian based embedded Linux OS. •Experience with embedded systems. •Experience of implementing software for TCP/IP socket communications.
