This role requires you to be part of a rota providing 24x7 support for our key ISP services as well as covering both planned and unplanned out of hours work as required.

We have recently launched one of the newest, largest networks in the UK, built using the latest SDN and MPLS technologies. Our new network is a carrier grade infrastructure present in more than 400 points of presence across the UK. As one of the only truly multi-service networks, you will rise to the unique challenge of supporting the connectivity, voice, hosting and security needs of our residential, business, channel and wholesale customers.

Working as an integral part of the Network and Infrastructure team, you will be part of a team that are responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the critical network infrastructure and processes that underpin Zen's consumer and business products.

The Network Operation Centre (NOC) is responsible for ensuring the maximum possible service availability and performance for Zen's extensive UK National Network. While you will have some commercial experience working as a Senior NOC Engineer, it's more important that you have the aptitude and demonstrable skills needed to fulfill this role whilst supporting less experienced members of the team to help them develop their skills and confidence.

The ability to liaise, communicate and support the other Business Divisions is essential. You will be required to frequently interact with Technical Support, Managed Support, Service Provisioning, Sales teams and 3rd party suppliers. It is vitally important that you are able to communicate ideas and information to people from a non-technical background.

You will work very closely with the Core Engineering teams and as such need to have a good all-round understanding of networks and systems.

Importantly, Senior NOC Engineers must develop a solid understanding of Zen's products and processes, they must be keen to learn, able to use their experience and initiative to tackle a broad range of problems and contribute to the growing success of Zen.

Working within an ITIL based framework the NOC Engineers ensure network and systems availability and performance, whilst supporting and monitoring key KPIs and SLAs.

You will be part of a wider engineering team managing a variety of engineering and technology based projects covering Connectivity, Security, Network Expansion, Hosting and Cloud solutions.

Reporting to the NOC Team Leader you must have a demonstrated track record within this field. This role commands a board range of skills from networking to systems engineering, enterprise applications to awareness of industry technologies.
