Head of Development
Head of Development - Nottingham - Global business
My global client are looking to recruit a Head of Development to provide leadership and insight to a large team of software professionals. You will have around 15 direct reports and c60 in total. You will be responsible for encouraging cross-functional, collaborative working as well help with the ongoing transition from Waterfall to Agile. The 3 core elements of the role are:
- Leadership - provide senior leadership to assigned teams ensuring development to agreed standards and key metrics (time, cost and quality)
- Management & Governance Oversight - ensuring effective utilisation of resources across solutions to meet business needs as well as ensuring agreed practices and standards are adhered to.
- Stakeholder management - manage the portfolio of work for key stakeholders highlighting risks and issues to allow for timely business decisions to be made
Although this isn't a hands-on Development Manager role you will you will need good knowledge of agile development practices, such as TDD, automated builds etc. You will also have exposure to platform-level development and web development technologies.
