Leading Cosmetics Manufacturer requires a Creative Development Manager / Executive to accurately articulate the creative style and vision of company. Working closely as part of an overall project team to manage the creative development function from design conception through to product delivery on gifting and all-year-round ranges.

Key Tasks

  • Creative and Project Management to meet Critical Time Paths (CTP) to include:

- Design conception and product idea generation

- Line list research, creation and development

- Product & packaging styling

- Research and mood board creation, working closely with the in-house design studio

- Creation of design, mock up and artwork briefing documents

- Name generation and copy writing where appropriate

- Artwork management and packaging print management, with the inclusion of Proof HQ

- Customer and licensor liaison where appropriate

- Preparation and presentation of creative to customers and licensors

- Preparation and management of customer samples and mock ups

- Conducting accurate and thorough competitor analysis

- Set up, manage and collate feedback on consumer product trials where appropriate

- Full understanding of market positioning and retail pricing structures within the market and

Individual retailers

- Benchmarking and trialling of product and packaging samples and submissions to ensure they meet the original brief

- Researching markets to identify potential new and innovative product and packaging solutions

- Product photography management to meet customer requirements

- Compliance with brand guidelines and regulatory and retailer/licensor requirements

- Working closely with Studio Traffic Manager to effectively plan in design and artwork Requirements to meet CTP’s and deadlines

  • Trends and Analysis

- continuous monitoring of key fashion & beauty blogs to stay abreast of industry trends and to inspire product, packaging and design ideas. WGSN is a key resource

- market research into new product launches, packaging ideas and innovative communication campaigns

- analysis of retail sales data to enable the development of commercially sound, volume driving products

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Design or Marketing Related Degree or similar qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years creative/product development experience ideally from within a creative design studio or brand agency environment within the health and beauty sector
  • Excellent standard of English language
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and In-design will be an advantage
