A Buyer role is now available in the Derbyshire market and we are looking to speak to those of you with good Buying/Procurement experience ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
This is a recognised business based to the North of Derby who work with an enviable customer base. There is now an opportunity for someone to join their small procurement team on a full time, permanent basis. The role will see you being responsible for the purchasing of predominantly direct goods and services in both the UK and international market.
Your duties will be varied and will include:
Purchasing equipment and services. This will include the preparation of enquiries, purchase orders, evaluation of bids and contractual negotiations to optimise returns achieving/improving upon budgeted costs, ensuring 'best practice'.
Managing suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, performance, schedule and delivery
Negotiating with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality
Expediting suppliers and produce regular feedback to the project team
Performing regular performance review with suppliers
Coordinating documentation approvals, submissions and monitor returns
Undertaking alternative supplier evaluations in readiness for future strategic challenges
Providing support as required to members of the quality team.
Monitoring supplier inventory, and provide support to members of the finance team
Who should apply?
The role needs someone who has a good grounding within the Procurement/Buying arena ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. As this is a small team, you'll need to be flexible and capable of juggling a number of duties and covering for others when needs be. Excellent supplier relationships are key to the role so a friendly yet business-like approach to your work is really important.
