Job Purpose

The key objective of the position is to provide key functions across the Group with Financial support and strategic guidance

You will assist in the preparation of all forward looking financial projections as well as having a detailed understanding of actual results and variances to previously prepared projections. The role requires a strategic understanding of the functions supported to enable effective business partnering with the Global teams. It also involves interface on a day-to-day basis with members of the Senior Management Team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the senior members of the CTO, Sophos Labs and EndUser and Network Product teams to provide financial support and strategic guidance
  • Leading the functions through annual planning and forecasting activities
  • Producing rolling expense forecasts and scenario modelling to support decision making
  • Tracking headcount costs versus Plan/Forecast to enable scenario modelling
  • Tracking risks and opportunities to Plan/Forecasts and providing inputs into the Sophos Group level Plans
  • Work closely with the Financial Control and Group reporting teams to understand and communicate the Group’s actual financial results and variances to Plan and forecast
  • Monthly review of actual results versus Plan/Forecast with Management team across the functions supported
  • Process review across all supported functions to ensure reporting capabilities align with functional needs
  • Drive the provision and communication of value added, self-service reporting by the business
  • Guiding the business in management of variances and working with the business to find opportunities to self-fund unexpected costs throughout a period
  • Enhance product profitability reporting by collaborating with the Product leaders to refine current processes that drive this
  • Enhance, develop and review KPI and dashboard reporting for the function
  • Prepare the relevant monthly management accounts reporting and commentary for all functions supported
  • Assistance in preparation of review packages for discussion at meetings with the VP Finance / Senior Management Team / CFO /CEO

Experience:

  • Part Qualified Accountant
  • Some experience of Business Partnering in a corporate environment
  • Excellent communication skills / inter-personal skills and influencing skills
  • Experience of working with the other departments within a business
  • Strong excel and data analysis skills
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and wishing to make a difference, with a track record of achievements
