This individual is responsible for performing File Reviews on Mortgage and Protection business submitted by the business. The individual is also responsible for identifying themes and trends arising from File Reviews and delivering feedback and best practice to the business to improve file quality and documentation standards.

National Mortgages Broker with strong market presence.

The role:

  • To carry out compliance monitoring activity, in particular, client file reviews against policy and standards
  • To facilitate completion of remedial action required where non-compliance is identified, including reporting of rule/procedural breaches and identifying any training needs
  • Being responsible for making a fair assessment of the cases reviewed based on available evidence
  • Ensuring that assessments are conducted in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide data for internal reporting requirements (daily/weekly/monthly) within time- scales agreed with the Director of Compliance
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify themes and issues and escalate to the Director of Compliance as appropriate
  • Generate best practice and provide feedback to the business to improve file quality and documentation standards
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of regulatory requirements and techniques and their application to file and documentation standards
  • To deliver feedback on file reviews in a clear, concise and understandable manner to achieve a timely resolution
  • Consistently demonstrates good Conduct Risk behaviours by placing the customer’s best interest at the heart of everything you do and recommends improvements where possible Contributes through actions and behaviour to ensuring the culture of the whole company reflects this
  • To undertake other relevant tasks as required by the Director of Compliance

Required experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a regulated or financial services environment
  • Relevant industry qualifications - minimum CF1 & R06 (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment in the UK, and in particular FCA regulation
  • Good IT skills in a range of relevant applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous file review experience
  • Relevant professional qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Business operations and practices
