SALARY: £17,760 - £20,727 PRO RATA
BAND 3 – HOURS: 18.75 (MON-FRI)

Working as a Forensic Support Secretary, this varied, interesting and challenging post will provide an opportunity to work with Forensic Community Mental Health Team (FCMHT) in order to support the provision of direct care and treatment of patients.

This Team is a tertiary service that provides consultancy, assessment, and treatment for mentally disordered offenders throughout Fife. The team consists of Forensic Psychiatry, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Support Worker and Administrative staff with input from Adult Social Work.

The team works with other services and agencies, providing specialist forensic assessment, risk management advice and consultancy.

Your role will be to provide a high quality comprehensive secretarial support service ensuring the effective and efficient running of the Team, while working under pressure with competing demands. You will require a level of understanding, a calm nature and excellent communication and listening skills. You will be exposed to sensitive / disturbing clinical information and crisis calls on a routine basis.

You should have a secretarial qualifications or equivalent. You will have significant years experience within the secretarial service and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages is essential. You will possess excellent skills in organisation, numeracy, audio, databases and keyboard. You will also have the ability to work as a member of a team or on your own initiative with minimal supervision. You will be unexpected to attend in-house training opportunities for personal development and ongoing learning. Reasonable knowledge of the NHS is desirable and knowledge of medical terminology and / or previous experience of working in a health care setting will be advantageous. General knowledge/overview of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015 and Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995 could be advantageous.
