Our busy Cardiac department, staffed by a friendly and committed team, provides a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology investigations. These include Coronary Angiography, primary PCI using up to date techniques, ICD, CRT and Pacemaker implantation and follow-up, Echocardiography, Physiologist-led stress testing including RACP and Chest Pain Clinics and a variety of ambulatory monitoring techniques, as well as a routine ECG service.

This post is for an experienced echocardiographer who will be working predominantly in performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiography. The post holder may be required to work in other areas of the department and therefore be appropriately qualified and experienced.

Within the echocardiography department at Ninewells, we have 3 Philips and 1 GE high specification machines and 2 portable machines. This equipment is complemented by Philips IE33 machines in Angus. The echo department provides 2D/3D transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, pharmacological and bubble contrast echo and stress echo studies.

We are fully committed to continuing professional development and education. Attendance at local, national and international professional meetings/seminars is encouraged and supported.

Suitable candidates must possess a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and must be RCCP registered or equivalent. Candidates must hold BSE accreditation or equivalent and have gained post qualification experience with the ability to work autonomously and train and develop others.
