Support Programmer/ Team Lead / Software Development

Location – Portsmouth, Hampshire

Salary – £ 38,000 - £ 45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor, Home and Pet Insurance Services are currently seeking to recruit a Software Support Programmer to join the Group based in Portsmouth due to continued growth.

The Support Programmer will be responsible for providing the on-going support for all internal e-Commerce and reporting applications and systems in the Groups technology platform as well as the management of the e-Commerce support team and workload.

This will include liaising with internal business personnel to resolve issues, deliver enhancements and complete relevant documentation to existing business areas.

Essential Skills:

  • Commercial experience with C#/.net, Javascript and SQL
  • Web development experience (particularly with ASP.NET MVC or other MVC frameworks)
  • Knowledge of unit testing
  • Inquisitive mind-set and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience of working in an Agile (Kanban) team
  • Experience mentoring and supporting other Developers

Desirable Skills:

  • Entity Framework
  • AngularJS and Angular
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and automated deployment technologies (e.g. TeamCity and Octopus Deploy)
  • RESTful API design
  • WCF
