Our client is a well established, financially strong and rapidly growing M&E Contractor with multi Sector expertise, in-house Design & Build capabilities, cutting-edge 3D Modelling & BIM capabilities and strong relationships with some of the UK's most respected Principle Contractors and Developers that has seen them involved in some of the most prestigious, landmark and innovative projects in London in the last decade.

Due to this sustained success and a buoyant order book for the year ahead our client would like to bolster their existing Estimating team with a Senior Electrical Estimator, with a potential to also consider somebody stepping up to the role who can show the determination, ability and attitude to succeed and progress in a Senior Capacity.

Some of your responsibilities:

The candidate will take responsibility for all electrically related estimation works with the support of an Intermediate Electrical Estimator.

  • Responsible for gathering data required in preparing lump sum, unit rate and cost plus detailed estimates.
  • Winning and tendering desired projects, achieving discounts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Send out enquiries and work closely with supply chain at tender stage to ensure correct and competitive prime costs.
  • Access initial tenders in respect of attractiveness, selectivity, commercial risk and completion and provide the appropriate report to management.
  • Query bid documentation as may be required to clear up any ambiguities, errors, and omissions in tender prior to tender closing.
  • Prepare tender adjudication pack ready for sign off with Pre-Construction Director.
  • Estimating, cost analysis and estimate co-ordination.
  • Prepare tender risk analysis and ensure tender submission is appropriately clarified.
  • Review of and development of discipline and multi-discipline material takeoffs.
  • Evaluation and/or development of construction labour rates and evaluation of sub-contract cost estimates and proposals.
  • Review and analyse complex bills of materials, assess labour productivity and labour costs.
  • Review of process designs and engineering specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggestions for alternatives.
  • Provide a fully detailed tender based on a performance specification and services drawings.
  • Send out enquiries and work closely with supply chain at tender stage to ensure correct and competitive prime costs.

You must have:

  • Previous experience Electrical Estimator leading tenders from £2 - £5m
  • Previous experience in leading a team and allocating workload to Junior/Assistant Estimators preferable
  • A comprehensive knowledge of current building regulations
  • Preferable for Candidates with a relevant trade background
  • Preferable for Candidates who are proficient with Amtech software
  • Preferable for candidates with a multi-sector experience including Commercial, Residential (Shell & Core and Fit-out), Financial and Educational.
