The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a Fife wide service providing Dietetic care to one Acute hospital, Primary Care hospitals and the community. The department is currently arranged into clinical groups for Acute, Diabetes, Nutritional Support, Older People and Paediatric. There are also Specialist Dietitians working in Mental Health, Eating Disorders and Health Improvement.

The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good clerical support, IT, internet and library facilities.

Maternity cover for Band 6 Specialist Dietetic post required for Older People’s team based in St Andrews Community Hospital with supervisory responsibility for the Band 5 Dietitian.
This post involves providing a Dietetic service to St Andrews Community Hospital and for older people in the surrounding area. This will involve undertaking general outpatient clinics, hospital wards as well as domiciliary visits for over 75’s and local care homes.
You will be required to work independently and there will be a requirement to work alongside a wide range of health and social care practitioners. You will be responsible for prioritising your daily workload and providing support to Dietetic students as well as to a Dietetic assistant. You will be part of the Older Peoples team and work collaboratively to achieve their aims and objectives.
