An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing band 7 or experienced band 6 to undertake the role of Senior Charge Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Labs/Wd 401.

The Senior Charge Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab provides leadership for nursing staff in both the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and 12 bedded day ward. Ward 401 procedures undertaken include Coronary Angiograms, Angioplasty, device insertions and EP studies/ablations.

The Senior Charge Nurse will have responsibility for the nursing team and the day to day running of the busy department in terms of functionality, HEI and HR whilst working closely with the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate should have current acute experience either at band 7 or at least 2 years as a band 6. Radiology experience would be preferred but not essential. The suitable candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic and willing to drive change. They should be ILS trained, IT literate and have some experience of HR issues and be willing to work towards an ALS qualification.

The successful candidate will be offered mentorship and a full development plan to support their new role. They will also be undertaking emergency on call after a period of training.
