CLINICAL FELLOW (LAS) IN GENERAL/UPPER GI SURGERY
FIXED TERM 1 YEAR

Applications are welcome for the post of Clinical Fellow in General/Upper GI & abdominal wall hernia surgery. The post holder will join a well established team in the Upper GI unit which provides both elective and emergency surgical care for the Lothian population.

The post is available for 1 year and will commence on 2nd October 2017 or soon after this date. There are another seven doctors at ST level 4 or above attached to the Upper GI unit and the successful appointee will work amongst this group to provide registrar-level support to the service. They will provide cover to the emergency general surgery on call rota and to participate in the elective surgery and inpatient ward duties. They will have the opportunity for operative exposure in UGI and abdominal wall hernia surgery depending on the experience and future training intention of the post holder. There will be also an element of undergraduate and Foundation-level teaching. Applicants must be ST4 level or above. This is an Exposure Prone post.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
